Creative Employment Access Society

is seeking a Career Advisor. We have one immediate opening for a full-time Career Advisor, and we may also draw from this competition to meet future staffing needs.


You will be interested in this position if you truly enjoy helping others achieve their goals, desire to work in a supportive and effective team, and have above average communications and interpersonal skills.


Duties:

  • Maintain positive and productive working relationships with clients

  • Meet with clients individually to:

 
  • conduct needs assessments

  • assist with written Return to Work Action Plans

  • assist with career exploration

  • create resumes and cover letters and assist clients to develop strong job search skills

  • refer clients to appropriate services or interventions

  • Orient and assist clients with programs and services provided by the Society

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files

  • Provide case management services to clients

  • Facilitate job search skills workshops for unemployed adults

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, Human Service Worker Diploma or equivalent education

  • Minimum of two years experience assisting people in a social services or educational setting

  • Good knowledge of local and regional labour market conditions and trends, and of the programs and services of relevant community agencies

  • Demonstrated experience facilitating groups of adults in a learning environment
